What is a Re-recording Engineer?

A re-recording engineer, or re-recording mixer, is the one responsible for taking all audio assets in a film (Dx, SFx, Mx) and mixing them all together. They work to make sure the film's technical requirements are met, such as immersive formats and loudness. But more importantly, they're the ones who shape your world sonically and support your story with sound!

What does "Story First Audio Post Production™" mean?

Story First Audio Post Production™ is our brand's main focus. Every project has a story to tell. Good audio helps support and tell that story, being invisible while immersing the audience in the worlds you make. We approach audio post production with one core mindset: Story First.

What software (DAWs) do you use?

Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Nuendo, Davinci Fairlight. Unless asked specifically, all projects will be mixed in Pro Tools.

Can you mix in Surround Sound and Dolby Atmos?

Currently I can mix and deliver up to 7.1 surround sound. I'm planning to expand into Dolby Atmos soon and will make an announcement when that goal is met.

Do you include revisions in the quote?*

Yes! But within reason. The nature of audio post production demands review and edits. I won't charge extra for that. However, should revisions start to go beyond the timeline agreed upon for the project, or revision requests start becoming scope creep where the project grows beyond the initial scope, such as requesting 7.1 after agreeing on stereo, a rate adjustment will need to be discussed and signed into agreement before work continues.

How should I prepare my project for the mix?

In order to avoid constant file transfers and corrections between me and your editor, please refer them to this guide on how to prepare projects to be passed off to audio post production. (Coming Soon)

What files (Stems) do I receive upon delivery?

Any Stem requirement you need! Common delivery asks for Dx (Dialogue), SFx (Sound Effects), and MnE (Music & Effects). If your project needs any additional delivery Stems please let me know during onboarding.

Do you archive my project's audio files?

Yes! All projects have lifetime archiving. If you ever need me to dig up your projects audio session one month or two years from now just let me know and we'll retrieve it for you right away.
